Carmelites are present worldwide. We are living the Carmelite life in all the continents. In India, besides our General Commissariat in Roman Rite, Carmelites are in the Syro Malabar Rite too (St. Thomas Province, Thrissur, INDIA).

As Carmelites, we follow the footsteps of Prophet Elijah who zealosly proclaimed the Lord God of hosts and gave the people around him a clear vision of the Divine presnce among them. Officially, we are called The Order of the Brothers of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. As the very name indicates, Carmelites keep a very special bond with the Mother of God.
